How to wear wigs in the summer time:

During the summer time, wearing a wig could be challenging. Certain wigs can make you feel sweaty, hot and weighed down which is totally uncomfortable. Below are some tips to help you make the best out of your wigs this summer.

Tip 1:

Add a thin, absorbent layer between the scalp and the wig cap.

Adding a layer will create a little space between the scalp and the wig cap. This small space helps dissipate heat from the scalp.

Tip 2:

Wash your wig more frequently during hotter summer months to keep it fresh.

During hot summer times, sweat and oil build up more quickly. This can build up as residue and stay on the wig cap. Washing your wig regularly helps keep your scalp healthy by reducing the growth of bacteria on your wig cap. Excess oil can also damage your wig and may cause irritation to your scalp.

Tip 3:

Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.

Too much direct sunlight can damage the fibers of your wig and cause the color to fade. Try to keep your wig in the shade when possible.

What are the best wigs to wear in the summer?

     2. Lighter colored wigs

When wearing wigs in summer, it’s also best to stick to lighter colors if you can.

Lighter colors don’t absorb as much heat as dark colors, this is something to keep in mind when choosing your summer wig color!
